Tonight I'm going to test my foot in action for the first time since the injury. Well, not the first time, exactly; last night I took it to the gym and worked on the treadmill for a while. The foot survived but the rest of me is rather weary after experiencing strenuous exercise after a month's absence.
Also, it turns out my toe wasn't broken, just badly sprained. That's how it felt to me but the doc said "broken" at first so I followed his instructions. A couple of weeks later I got a voicemail from him, with news from the radiologist that the hairline fracture in the x-ray was likely a hairline artifact.
In any case the foot feels OK mostly, though I can still feel the pain when I flex it too far. Soccer tonight (the first game of the fall season) should be interesting.
So where have my bad toe and I been for the past month? Not far, really. Worked a lot recently. Attended the annual Kurkoski family campout at Ohanapecosh on Mt. Rainier. Took some photos. (Sorry, nothing online yet.) Played a lot of Burnout: Paradise on the 360.
